Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak
We’re sorry but we have had to close the doors of the practice temporarily to non-essential eyecare, to protect our patients and staff. The safety of everyone is paramount. We will have a member of staff available to answer queries via telephone or email each day throughout the crisis but working hours may be reduced.
If you have broken or lost your glasses and need a replacement pair to function or you have a problem with your contact lenses, please contact us so we can assess how best to meet your needs. We can arrange delivery of spectacles and contact lenses and we will do our best to make repairs.
We are available for appointments during the crisis for essential and urgent care only but please contact us to arrange this rather than presenting at the door. This will allow us to control cross-infection and limit who is in the practice at any one time. It may be possible to advise or prescribe remotely via phone or videocall. We may need to prescribe you a drug to treat your eyes; currently, we can issue private prescriptions only. We can also refer you to an NHS non-hospital eye clinic if necessary.
Examples of urgent symptoms include:
- your vision has suddenly changed or become blurry
- you have a painful or red eye
- you have been advised to attend this practice by NHS 111 or another healthcare professional for urgent eye care
If you are not sure about something or worried about your eyes or your sight, please do ring or email. We appreciate the unwavering loyalty of all our patients now more than ever and we wish everyone the best during this difficult time. We hope to see you all back in practice soon.
